SUMMER OF BLOOD, WEEK 4 POLL: GIALLI

VOTING CLOSED - WINNER: THE PERFUME OF THE LADY IN BLACK
Thanks to everyone who voted!

Of all the various sub-groups of horror cinema, the one nearest to my heart is the Italian giallo of the 1960s and '70s. Style-over-everything murder mysteries drenched in sex, atmosphere, and color, the films are among the most distinctive and memorable in all of genre film. For this week's film, I've selected a spread of films that represent the gialli at their classiest and their most irredeemably crude; I will trust that you don't need more than the titles to figure out which is the latter.

The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave (1971)
From IMDb: "A wealthy pervert lures beautiful young women to his castle so he can have his way with them."

The Perfume of the Lady in Black (1974)
From IMDb: "Sylvia, an industrial scientist, is troubled by strange hallucinations related to the tragic suicide of her mother."

Strip Nude for Your Killer (1975)
From IMDb: "When a fashion model dies during an abortion, a series of murders begins, starting with her doctor."
