It is, at this point, quite clear that 2013's predominate Movie Which Cinephiles Are So Damn Excited For is Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity, and I surely don't want to prove the exception. Frankly, anything shot by Emmanuel Lubezki comes in at a tremendous advantage for me to start with, to say nothing of it being the first film for the director in seven unendurably long years since the great Children of Men.
Anyway, with Cuarón's filmography being so short, and the days until 4 October being so long, I could think of literally nothing better to do with my time than indulge in a retrospective of the director's six features (soon to be seven!) between now and then: starting tonight, Tuesdays and Fridays will be Cuarón time here at Antagony & Ecstasy. We kick things off with his 1991 debut, Sólo con tu pareja, which I'm especially excited to look at, as it's the only one of the director's films that I haven't yet seen.
